ATOM 2010 Awards Closing Soon
Entries are closing soon for the 2010 ATOM awards
Create. Inspire. Celebrate.
Entries are closing soon for the 2010 ATOM awards - Australia and New Zealand's most prestigious awards for achievements in Film, Television, Animation and Multimedia (including video games).
Production houses, students, game developers, educational resource developers, independent filmmakers, documentary makers, animators, multimedia developers ... anyone who has produced anything for the screen is encouraged to enter the 2010 ATOM Awards.
This year, the ATOM Awards program will recognise and celebrate excellence, featuring thirty-two awards across three categories - Student, Educational/Vocational and General.
"The Awards program provides a fantastic opportunity for both students and industry professionals to show off their work and be recognised by their peers." commented Simon Wilmot, ATOM Awards Executive Officer.
"What makes the ATOM Awards so special is that it is one of the few platforms where the industry gets together with media educators and students. The ATOM Awards program not only recognise and celebrates the high quality of work made by students and the industry, it also promotes the importance of quality work in education and the contribution media makes in education, both produced by students and by industry," he added.
"As the awards program is proudly presented by Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM), it has a strong focus on education. The judging panel comprises educators, industry professionals in the relevant media, and in some cases, sample audiences. For instance, we include a guest panel of child judges each year to assist in judging the child-focused entries. After all, when it comes to gauging what appeals to children, the best feedback comes directly from the target audience," Mr Wilmot noted.
"The ATOM Awards have been acknowledging the work of students and professionals for twenty-seven years and we look forward to yet another year of inspiring contributions from our entrants. However, you have to be in it to win it, so we are encouraging anyone in Australia or New Zealand who has created a production in the past twelve months to enter this year's program," he concluded.
Entries for the 2010 ATOM Awards will close at midday on Tuesday 15 June 2010.
